What is phishing?

Phishing, Phishing or in French, is a fraudulent technique used by hackers to collect sensitive information, personal and / or confidential information (bank details, identity theft ...) belonging to users. For this, they reproduce the same design of a site or communications (emails) from a legitimate brand.

The most common form is the sending of an email appearing to official whose contents invite the victim to click on a link redirecting to a site appearing to him as official order to communicate confidential information.

How proceed the Phishiers?

Phishers send emails to a large number of Internet users whose addresses were collected illegally or made automatically by specific tools. These emails show logos and typography officials of various companies such as banks, e-commerce sites or Internet service providers, and require the user to click on a hypertext link included in the message. The URL link included in the email is also "hidden" in order to appear authentic.

Phishing emails are usually threatening their victims or have promises or guarantees.

They often contain spelling mistakes, syntax errors or incorrect information on customer references.

However phishing techniques are refined and modernized. The procedure does not change but the bogus emails become less coarse, usually written in French and with fewer mistakes.

What if you receive a fraudulent email?

If there is an email from a company of which you are a client (our company, Bank, EDF, etc.):
